Transport Security System Compliant with TAPA TSR 1

The solution offered by Omtech has been designed to meet the requirements of TAPA TSR 1, the highest level of security for road transport of high-value and high-risk goods. The system combines vehicle-level technical safeguards with advanced telematics and continuous real-time operational monitoring.

System Architecture and Redundancy

The solution is based on two independent GPS modules:

  • one installed in the tractor unit,
  • one installed in the trailer, equipped with its own independent power supply.

This architecture ensures uninterrupted monitoring even in the event of trailer detachment or deliberate sabotage. Each module operates autonomously, continuously transmitting location data and security status information.

Monitoring and Event Detection

The system enables continuous monitoring of:

  • vehicle position,
  • cargo door opening,
  • movement inside the trailer,
  • interference with electrical systems or security components,
  • loss of connection between tractor and trailer.

Any detected violation automatically triggers an alarm transmitted to the monitoring center in real time.

Alarm Management and Operational Response

The system supports both automatic and manual alarm functions:

  • panic button available to the driver, including a wireless option,
  • remote arming and disarming of the system,
  • alarm signaling once the system is armed.

All alerts are transmitted instantly, enabling immediate response in accordance with TAPA procedures.

Route Control and Geofencing

The solution uses geofencing mechanisms that allow:

  • definition of secure transport corridors,
  • continuous verification of route compliance,
  • generation of alarms when the vehicle deviates from the planned route.

This ensures full control over the vehicle’s movement throughout the entire transport process.

Backup Power Supply and Sabotage Resistance

The GPS modules are equipped with backup power sources, enabling uninterrupted operation for at least 48 hours after loss of vehicle power. This function is critical in the event of intentional power disconnection or system tampering.

Driver Authorization

The system supports cyclical driver authorization, performed at predefined time intervals. Failure to confirm authorization results in an alarm, increasing control over transport execution and driver presence.

Integration and Expansion

The solution can be expanded with additional security components, including:

  • electronic trailer door locks,
  • additional sensors,
  • integration with other vehicle security systems.

Full Customization

The system is fully customizable, both in terms of hardware configuration and functional logic. This allows precise adaptation of the solution to the cargo type, transport route, and operational requirements, while maintaining full compliance with TAPA TSR 1.
